QR Code Help & Instructions
This page explains how to correctly format each type of QR code supported by the system. Each format must follow strict rules so that the QR code can be read correctly by devices.
Important Notes
- Always follow exact formatting rules
- Do not add spaces inside structured formats (WiFi / mailto / tel)
- Incorrect formatting will result in unreadable QR codes
- Test your QR before sharing it publicly
1. Text / URL QR Code
This is the simplest type of QR code. You can enter any text or a valid URL.
Examples:
- https://example.com
- Hello world
- https://your-portfolio.com
There is no special formatting required for this type.
2. Email QR Code
This type opens the user's email app with a pre-filled recipient. You must use the mailto: format.
Correct format:
mailto:your-email@example.com
Example:
mailto:john.doe@gmail.com
Only the email address should be changed. The prefix mailto: must remain unchanged.
3. WiFi QR Code
This QR code allows users to connect automatically to a WiFi network. The format must follow a strict structure:
WIFI:T:WPA2;S:YourSSID;P:YourPassword;;
Field explanation:
- T → Security type (WPA, WPA2, WPA3)
- S → Network name (SSID)
- P → Password
Example:
WIFI:T:WPA2;S:HomeNetwork;P:12345678;;
If the network is open (no password), you can use:
WIFI:T:nopass;S:NetworkName;;
4. Phone QR Code
This type opens the phone dialer with a pre-filled number.
Format:
tel:+codeXXXXXXXXX
Example:
tel:+306912345678
Always include the country code for best compatibility.
5. Location QR Code
This type opens a map application with a specific location.
Format:
geo:latitude,longitude
Example:
geo:40.6401,22.9444
You can find coordinates using Google Maps by right-clicking a location.
6. SMS QR Code
This QR code opens the user’s messaging app with a pre-filled phone number and optional message.
Format:
sms:+codeXXXXXXXXX?body=Your message here
Example:
sms:+306912345678?body=Hello, how are you?
Rules:
- Always include country code (+30 for Greece)
- No spaces in the phone number
- The message is optional but must follow body=
7. Contact QR Code (vCard)
This QR code creates a digital contact card that can be saved directly to the phone’s contacts.
Format:

FN:Full Name

ORG:Company Name
TITLE:Job Title

Example:

Rules:
- Each field must be on a new line
- No extra spaces before or after tags
- FN is required (Full Name)
- TEL and EMAIL are strongly recommended
